Secret Hate
In 1980 Secret Hate started out as a raw old school punk rock band from Long Beach. Since then they have evolved into a non-derivative, creative, boundary breaking, intense, out-of-control, soul flavored, vocal oriented rock band more intent on fucking shit up than being attractive. Maintaining a punk ethic and sticking to their guns, honest music from the heart fuels this band. Do yourself a favor - check out a live show. These guys are legendary.
Bob Schaeffer is one of Secret Hate's guitar players. Bob screams and Bob can sing. He can play dirty guitar and switch to a clean Fender sound within the blink of an eye. When he's doing his solo stuff Bob likes to write off-the-hook, lazy, garage, guitar noise rock that sounds like the bastard love child of The Beach Boys, The Germs, Nirvana and The Troggs. Big Yucky Bob is great. But he can also destroy you.
